[OOM: Crimefighting date in Gotham]

Dinah's room would be fairly sparse, except for a bad habit of hers to leave clothes scattered on the floor: school clothes, sports clothes and fishnets mingle together where she's left them, and it's only the realisation that she can't move faster than Tommy can see that stops her racing to hide the underwear she swears wasn't there when she left.

Other than that; her bed is made,her writing desk is covered in homework, and a Justice Society fan poster older than Dinah herself is pinned above the bed. Photos of her uncles out of costume cover the pinboard above her desk, and the only framed photograph an early one of her parents; her mother in costume and her Dad obviously pleased to be on the arm of the Black Canary.

"And this is my room," Dinah says quietly, shutting her closet door behind her and Tommy. "Can you race out without my Mom catching you?"

Tommy nods, but doesn't say anything.

Not his city at all, so. But his girlfriend's.

Dick eyes them doubtfully.

"Who're you, anyway?"

What does he mean, he doesn't know? :O!

"I'm the Black Canary," Dinah says, standing away from Tommy just enough to put her hands onher hips. Duh!

Duh is right.

Tommy subtly looks at Dinah as if to say, should I say anything?

Dinah catches Tommy's eye, and shakes her head, briefly and quickly, assuming his eye can ctach it. Instead she nods her head behind Robin.

"Shouldn't you be somewhere?"

In the night sky behind the boy, the pervasive clouds above Gotham are lit up with a bright oval light, the centre of which is taken up by a stylised symbol of a bat.

Dick, mouth open about to answer, hesitates and then sighs. "Fine. But don't let me see you guys around here again!"

Tommy rolls his eyes subtly; he's not getting caught again, that's for sure.

Dinah shakes her head, reaching for Tommy's hand and heading back along the alley.

"He's not as good at uptight as his partner," she says. "Ignore him, Batman's fine with me."

Tommy laughs. "I've seen more uptight, so no worries. He usually come and bother you?"

"First time," she admits, sounding more thoughtful, now. She doesn't want him getting in her way anymore. "I've crossed paths with Batman a couple of times, but that's the first time I've met Robin."

"Weird - maybe he was just looking for someone to powertrip over or something," Tommy laughs, thinking of Eli.

"He can try it on the civilians," Dinah says, lightly, squeezing Tommy's hand.

She doesn't need to. She just likes him.

"It doesn't work on me."

"Didn't think it would," he says, squeezing back.

"Do heroes usually go to restaurants in costume in your world?"

Dinah looks puzzled. "To eat?"

"Yeah. Just... because... you know. Date."

Not that he's planning for the future or anything.

Dinah smiles a slow smile. "We could always find out?"

"Sounds good. Any other crime to foil tonight?"

"Not unless we find it," she says brightly. "We could go eat or look for crime, up to you."

"Hmm. Up to me? Crime never sleeps, so. I vote crime."

"OK," Dinah says cheerfully, leading him down another alley. "Keep your eyes open."

"Okay," Tommy nods, and proceeds to follow her while looking around.
